In November, 2007 Stephen "Joe" Williams of Old Lyme, Connecticut sent me photos he took at the Allman Cemetery located off U.S. 33 at Lorentz, Upshur County, West Virginia. This stone was obviously erected long after his death. William Allman was the father of Elizabeth Allman, wife of John H. Westfall and mother of Peter Westfall who is buried in the Harrison Grove Cemetery on Murphy's Creek Road, Lewis County, West Virginia |

![]() While driving around the Buckhannon area, we mistook the Mount Hermon Church and cemetery for the Mount Rupert Church and cemetery a few miles down the road. We nevertheless found a couple of Westfall headstones. Henry F. Westfall was the son of Ira Burton Westfall and Ida Catherine Lowe. |

![]() Old Heavner Cemetery, now the Buckhannon Memorial Cemetery is on Post Mill/Hall Road on the north side of U.S. 33. The cemetery is on the site of the old Buckhannon Fort, also known as Bush Fort. Famous scout and Indian fighter William White, grandfather of Henry Fry Westfall, was killed in 1782 by Indians on the side of Indian Knob shown here in the background just to the right of the large oak tree in the center of the picture. The red obelisk In front of the oak tree is the monument to Colonel Henry Fry Westfall and his wife Mary. |
