FAMILY HISTORY THROUGH PHOTOGRAPHS
Our son Bruce with Beverly Mitchell of TV fame, Nashville, 2006	Bruce and wife Denise with George McCorkle and country star Candy Coburn, Nashville, 2006. George was one of the founding members of the Marshall Tucker Band, song writer and recording artist. He died of cancer last year. George was one of Bruce's closest friends and a neighbor in Carthage, Tennessee. Bruce took his death really hard.	Bruce and Denise with singer Jimmy Van Zant and his wife Zohra, Florida, 2005. Jimmy is the cousin of Donnie and Johnnie Van Zant of 38 Special and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Duchess and Precious (behind Duchess) are Mountain Cur and beagle mix. Both are females and loving members of the family. 13 May 2009	Granddaughter Nicole and her mother Denise, Pleasant Shade, Tennessee, 13 May 2009	Nicole with Duchess and Precious. Duchess was hit by a car in front of their house. Bruce rushed her to the vet and thought they were going to have to put her down. The vet donated her services to save the live of Duchess and amputated her front leg. Duchess' rear right leg was also badly smashed but the vet was able to set the leg and put pins in it. I took his picture a couple of days before the vet removed the cast on her hind leg. Duchess gets along surprisingly well on three legs.

John Whitsett, grandfather of Sarah Childress Polk (wife of President Polk) settled on Caney Fork about 1790. The exact location is unknown to me.
